W7 Gif Folder on Desktop

Good morning....nice to know we are all still here on May22....no Rapture after all...rolleyes

Lately I have noticed that a copy of my Gif folder appears on my desktop. It usually contains a copy of whatever gif folder I have been searching for..i.e. smileys, birthdays etc. On one occasion the whole file appeared. I send to recycle bin but it reappears each time I use my Gif folder.

There is nothing in the folder options that I can see to avoid this.

Can anyone help please..

scroll down to the section "To change a library's default save location". You might need to do some editing there.
