w7 installatin in safe mode

    i have a toshiba laptop that only boots into safe mode.
    i was installing w7 then i get thi message"windows can not complete installation in safe mode.to continue installing windows,restart the computer. however the computer freezes after the starting windows screen.all i get is a gryish screen, no mouse, pls i nedd help,thanks in advance

    Is this a new clean install or a upgrade from a previous Windows version and if so which version?

    In any case.....

    What I would be tempted to do is to re-boot to the Win7 DVD and then format and re-install Windows 7 again as you may just have hit a random hiccup in the install that will never be fixed.

    But do save all your important files and docs and make a note of any licence keys you have for any software before a clean new install of Windows.
