I'm running a new DELL studio xps, model M1640 with Windows 7. When I try to open www.walmart.com I'm getting the message "Do you want to save this file opr find a program online to open it." The only url that I have tried that does this.

I ran registry repair and malware bytes but it still does the same.

I contacted DELL and the technician told me it was a software problem so would have to pay to get it fixed.

Does anyone have an answer to my problem. I do a lot of business with Walmart so this is important to me.

    Thank you very much

What happens if you type the link into the address bar of your browser?

Have you installed flash, shockwave, or sun java? Could be asking to install the software to run the site from one of those three applications.

Clicking on the link you provided, I was sent directly to the WalMart home page.
Try just typing walmart then holding Ctrl and hitting Enter?

My guess is the IE is not registering pages correctly. Try using a different browser.

Also, try resetting IE to defaults. Via: Tools, Internet options, Advanced tab, click RESET, then (warning only if the normal reset doesn't work) [click the box "Delete Personal Settings"], then click RESET, click Close, then Ok, then quit IE, and launch IE again, see if you can get there or not.

If you selected the "Delete personal settings" click "ask me later" when you relaunch IE. and go to walmart.com

i was getting something similar (didn't try going to walmart, but happened on other sites) that had nothing to do with flash/shockwave/java with Mozilla's Firefox 3.5.4...problem solved when 3.5.5 came out a few days later. was one of the bugs in 3.5.4.

also have the occasional problem with KIS 2010 (Kaspersky); pages are actually blank until i add it to the "whitelist."

The message comes up "Do you want to save this file or find a program online to open it." The walmart site will not open.

that's pretty much the message i got with Firefox 3.5.4 that went away with 3.5.5. i think mine was more "download/save or open" but i think that message was Firefox specific since it has a download manager built in. no clue what else might be causing it.

What happens when you click "find a program online to open it"?
I'm curious where it will send you.

Another thing to look at is the default settings on IE as ^^^ mentioned. Are you running the most current IE? 7 or 8 will be okay.
