hi im back with another question.

i have two questions that are very simalar.

ok first. i would like to know what format music has to be in to play on normal cd-players. also my freind has a cd with loads and loads of music on one CD. i was wondering how you can compress music, to also play on CD players

my second question is about movies. i have a few movies on my computer, (music videos if your wondering) i would like to as above know what format they have to be in and how to compress them (if you can.) to play on standard DVD players.

    Extra info
    i have WMP
    Real player
and sreambox player (this changes your codecs)

    thanks UKARMYCADET

has to be in .wav format to play in a standard CD Player. In other words, if the music is in MP3 format on your computer, you have to burn it to the cd in a .wav format. Most CD burning software will convert the format for you once you burn it. Nero is very good.

As far as DVD's if you have a VCD file you can burn it to a DVD cd if you have a dvd burner, but the DVD player has to support VCD. Also if you have a dvd on you computer and its in a divx file format, you have to convert it, which is a pain in the @$$.

You are a little off there. Just having .wav files on a cd will not ensure a normal player can read them. You need to convert the .wav files to the cdda (CD audio) format. Most burning software can do this. The old days of extracting music from cds was first converting them to .wav and then to other formats. Nowadays, the conversion can be straight to .mp3 or whatever. Also, .mp3 to cdda.

true, it is cda, I forgot that is the standard format for audio cd's. Funny cause I have ripped a million cd's before, haha. Just slipped my mind.
