Want To Get Rid Of Dial Up Noise.

    I know its probally very simple but i clicked on settings then volume and when i adjusted some of the bars it only muted my surround speakers. I want to mute the little speaker that is built in the tower. The dial up noise is really loud and annoys those aspleep late at night. Thanks!

    Go into the modem properties.
    Control Panel > Phone and Modem Options> Modem tab > modem properties
    Turn the speaker volume off. If that doesn't work try adding "M0" to the initialization string. Worked for me.

    Niether worked. I take it that "MO" is to be typed at the Advance screen in the Modem Properties, right?
