Suddenly i have a dropdown minue in explorer that seems to catch all my search requests. I hate it! i dont want everyone to know what i am looking at not o mention i have a "shared computer" i dont want to know what everyone else is looking at either- not a good thing. Is there a program on my computer creating this problem, or is it a setting in explorer that i need to change? Either way everyone here wants it gone. I have done everyhing i know how to this computer- (apparently someone installed dog watcher at one point- think it was the old GM, but we dont have a GM anymore so it was useless to have) Please Help! i have a really nosey co worker that needs to get a life and keeps accusing everyone of searching for junk- when it is her husband running the "questionable" seraches (know this cause i know who uses the computer and when and i looked at the cookies since she accused me and the times attached were when i was gone to lunch- literally out of the building)

Well did you try right clicking (in the area of file, edit, view, etc) and deselect the address bar or lock the toolbar? You also need to specify what OS you are using when you post so we here at MG's can aid you better. Quick question--is it like a google address bar or what? Vikingman4456

Running an old Compaq 5204, 98se OS, 384mb Ram, 4mb HD, nothin fancy just an old beater computer that seems to be pretty stable (most of the time)

Sorry for the lack of information on my part. I am running in Xp and i found it isnt just in explorer it is in all search engines. Some display the same drop downs while other have their own set of "memories" i am using web crawler to avid any problems for now- it has a seperate drop down memory than the other search engines. It is the "search" drop down in the actual window (not the nav bar) that is collecting information. i am begining to think it is something in the search engines collecting data- is there a way to clear this out?
