Want to learn , need web adresses.

Ive been told (on good authority) that C++ is a good language to learn , i dont want to dive in and buy a book , as i am new to programming and may get snowed under , is there any websites where i can learn the basics of C++? in easy to understand tutorials , if you know a good one please tell me , thanks

I believe at this point Glenn likes to jump in with a pdf book on C++... Although I have a copy at home I don't have one here to post... watch this space and I'm sure it'll appear soon... if it ain't here when I get home I'll see what I can do...
