want to send previous email correspondence from my "holding" file

i have some previous email correspondence in my "holding file" in my email box. i have just opened "compose" and included 2 attachments. i would like to include the correspondence in my holding file so that when my addressee open my email he will have access to this correspondence. when i try to use attachments, it doesn't work because attachments doesn't show anything within you're email box - it browses to the various folders on you're HD.
I'm using gmail

any help on how to accomplish this, very much app
