For some reason, Control Panel on Windows 7 seems to have "lost" the icon for "uninstall programs."

I need to uninstall Java, so I can reinstall it clean. Since I last updated, Java is screwed up. The gory details aren't necessary.

All I ask is some way I can uninstall all the Java on my system, without having to use a Control Panel icon that isn't there.

The Java interface lacks a button that will uninstall it. So what can I do?

Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features.

I don't have Java installed on any computer in the house but my uninstall notes say that the Java Control Panel icon, the coffee cup, can be found in
    C:\Windows\system32\JAVACPL.CPL
If you have it, click on it and it should be in the control panel now.

The usual way to uninstall something that won't uninstall is to reinstall it first and then remove it.
