While I sympathize with you, I think you will find that no one here will help you perform an act, which in some states is illegal as well as unethical.

Setting that aside, do you think he's using a chat service like MSN, or Facebook he's using?

MSN-- Yes!! Facebook not sure. Sorry for asking a question that is illegal. In the courts eyes the computer is half mine so I would presume I could record keystrokes to get his password and intern verify my suspicion.

Sigh, this is very thin ice that you are walking on. I would not suggest that you use any keystroke logger. The best advice I can give you is to ask him. It may be "half yours" but his accounts have passwords, no doubt, for both the user account as well as any email or online accounts.

You could be opening a big can of worms. So I would just suggest that you confront him about your suspicions. :major

There is a way to log conversations on MSN.

To turn on the Message History, open up the main Messenger window, click the Tools menu, then Options, click the Messages tab, and make sure that "Automatically keep a history of my conversations" is checked. Then to view someone's history, in any conversation window, click the File menu, and choose Open Message History.

as for email, if it's web based and he's not wiping his settings each time he's on, usually, it saves his password and username, so when you goto the site, if you aren't already logged in, just double click on each field and it will likely bring up the username in a dropdown menu. then the password usually populates automatically once you select a username.

She would have to log into his MSN account to set that up.
Extremely doubtful that he has his password saved in an email account. I don't have any online accounts that will automatically fill in my passwords.

So you have autofill or autocomplete turned off then? That's what I'm referring to.

Hell yes. I don't want to run the chance that someone can access my private info.

I was going to suggest maybe try being around him a lot more if the computer is at the house. So he doesn't have time to email and etc. Also we really cant say go spy and heres the programs. Thats for courts to do. And if your wrong with him cheating then it makes you look bad in courts. I hope hes not cheating for one. But I even seen an add on news that facebook/myspace causes divorces cause people are meeting long lost friends from school and dating them.

Yeah i didn't get into the illegal issues. I read some cases where people go to prison for reading/hacking into someones email. So best bet is to not do it. I personally would ask him about it(but most likely he will lie) you can say blah blah blah I know this ain't going good but tell me the truth and we can work on it from there. Also get more involve into him being online you can do things like check the history and where hes been(if smart he delete it each time). Also straight up get rid of him. I know people ain't perfect but you dont got to deal with him.

    Thanks for your response.
IF I am wrong there will be no court. I still believe in trust but verify!

    Motc7,
Thanks!! I am not that good with computers but I will try this. MSN AND OR HOTMAIL is his secret account that I can't see.

Thanks for the heads up but I am still going to proceed. It's something that you just got to know or it will never have peace of mind. I know I'm talking to a bunch of men and most of you already know this--- WOMEN USUALLY, ALWAYS KICK BUTT IN COURT!! Not fair but true!!

PS-- I don't expect this to end our marriage and very unlikely this will go to court. I doubt there has been any physical contact. I believe just an INTERNET girlfriend and would like to stop it now before it gets out of hand.

    Tim,
Thanks for your comment however men that cheat will usually lie and if he becomes wise to my suspicions he may start covering his tracks better!

The problem is that you could fall foul of the data protection laws.

I am at the moment involved in a process against a well known software company who sent me an e-mail purporting that i had used their software with a pirated key.
It happens i have not ever used the software in question and may be a victim of a third party using my internet??

The reason i am in dispute is where did they get my e-mail address ( they refuse to tell me )without my permission.

    So tread very carefully.

    Thanks Bill,
I hope things go well for you and you catch the guy!!! In my case my husband would never press any charges against me for any reason.

Lisa sounds like the problem has nothing to do with the internet but rather trust. TimW had great advice, confront your husband with your mistrust. Sneaking around too is not a good idea. Good luck!
