We just got a new WAP/Router, we plugged both computers into the router, it shows that I am connected from this computer at 100 Mbps while sending/receiving the right amount of bytes and I cannot connect to any online programs or get on Internet Explorer. My dad's computer works though. I have a ethernet cable going from the Modem to the WAN port, my computer going to port 1, and the other to port 2 so I'm not sure if I have it plugged up wrong or not

I'm going to update this post for Twisted.

I called Linksys 'outsource' tech. support and after about 30 minutes of resetting and so forth the tech determined the router.... well 2 routers were defective. My original and one given to us by a friend was also defective. So we went down to the local Staples and picked up a Netgear 108Mbps wireless firewall router.

I hope it turns out to be a good one. The floor person said that Netgear and Linksys were their most popular routers, and that a lot of people are switching to Netgear from Linksys due to quality issues.
