i'm using XP and would like to know how to stop this from happening... i'll be viewing a page and use the Back button and i frequently get this screen.... it's a bit of an annoyance because then i have to hit refresh, and then retry..... does this have to do possibly with my internet security settings? my Security is set to Custom and my Privacy is set to Medium....

I am not 100% sure but I think this happens as a security reason. it has nothing to do with your settings it has to do with the cookies placed on your computer. For example a website might log you off automatically after a certain period of time. I have seen this happen mostly with bank institutions. It is just a security issue. and it makes sense you would not want your bank information to remain on screen for long periods of time.
also web based emails have a similar security setting.

If my assumptions are incorrect please feel free to correct me

Actually its a rutgers email feature, if your using the webmail site it will auto kick you in 20 minutes. There is no "reset timer" button that I've ever found and its a pain in the ass to save your emails and pull them back up in webmail. I ended up just configuring outlook to pull it down. We use an IMAP server, here are the instructions for configuring outlook for it http://www.nbcs.rutgers.edu/newdocs/windows.index.html#Netscape if you dont want to do that just move on the page before 20 minutes (seems to be the norm on RU pages) and if you have any questions you can call up the idiots at RUCS or pm me

thx for responding Onyx... i use that website URL to check my mail ( i don't use Outlook at all)... i don't mind the RU site doing it because i hardly ever check my email, but it kinda gets annoying when i'm on other forums and it happens....

this has to do with sessions. When you perform an action, the session is expired and any session data along with it. There's no way to get around it, it's all done from the server.
