WARNING!! Phishing/Scam alert

Hey all... I just got the following e-mail in my inbox this morning, and after checking it out, I wanted to make sure that you all were aware that it is going around. This is a Phishing scam e-mail, it is NOT from the IRS (whose website is www.irs.gov, not .us). If you get one of these, it can be forwarded on to phishing@irs.gov for them to follow up on.

might want to remove the link in your post, since it is a bad site anyway...btw, i get those and others like it all the time...and in the spots to fill in your info i put some nasty stuff in there...just for the heck of it.

 

Thanks TSG.... didn't think of that, am still on my first cup of coffee (late night last night). I have to admit, the page the link takes you too looks legit other than the fact that they want your Social Security number, Personal info and credit card info. Granted, the note at the bottom that tells you to close the browser as soon as you're done isn't suspicious at all....right. LOL

I'm kinda wondering who would be foolish enough to think that in May, more than a full month after our federal tax returns were due, the IRS would be out of the blue sending an email of all things telling you to request a refund. I mean...they're not out to GIVE us money, and even if they were, they surely wouldn't have waited this long.
