My first guess would have been that he doesn't like winter.
I live in a cold country.

cold for four months a year, too hot , the rest...
summer i forget.

um, that is Nova Scotia Winter at its best!

 

Last time I was "home" in Chicago area, Jan 04. Just getting started, this was a daytime shot from my hotel window. That was on Sunday IIRC, by Wedesday, it was -17 F / -27 C with about a 30 MPH wind, daytime. Great trip, but I was sure happy to head south again after it was over.

 

My Dad's home in Chicago burbs a few years ago at Christmas. Dad was sick, so I got to shovel as soon as I flew in. LOL.

 

God look at all that snow i wish it snowed properly in Oz i would love a white X,mas, instead summers on it way here is Australia.

although Darwins coming into wet season its still stinking hot and water and heat make steam as you would all know so its hot

The rest of Oz is just finishing up on spring though and about to take on the heat of the warm sun.

All these cold snowy photos have gotten to me. We have just lit our FIRST real fire and it is so nice and toasty in my living room right now. Bring on the marshmallows and smores, I say

 

No can do Lev. My 4 year old house has a gas fireplace, which looks pretty, but it's UNVENTED. 10 minutes use sets off the carbon monoxide detector. Reading the instructions says to open a window at least an inch when using it to avoid asphyxiation. What's the point?

 

I had a gas fireplace that got PDO'd by the gas board in the UK. I only called them out for a service and they left me with no heating and a replacement cost of over 3000 ukp. It sucks Gary. So how do you keep warm? Oil fired storage heaters?

 

Regular central forced air gas furnace. The fireplace is just eye-candy.
