Was again blocked from posting on Major Geeks : "token expired"

Discussion in 'Software' started by conceptualclarity, Jan 30, 2014.

  1. I was trying to post on a thread I started on Major Geeks and was blocked several times with the message that "the token has expired." See screenshot.

Fortunately when I hit the back button my message was still there. I had to open a new tab with that thread and paste the message in a brand new box to get it to go through.

I have experienced this problem before.

I didn't know what other forum to post a website bug thread on.

I think you will find that if you always remember to tick the Remember Me box when logging in that that will fix it.

Your screen shot shows you've a lot of tabs open cc. I'm wondering how long you had the MG-thread open that you tried to reply to, but inactive, before you actually tried to post/submit your reply?

  4. I thought Remember Me boxes were supposed to remember you so that you don't have to manually check them each time. That's what I've seen on other websites. At any rate, my MG logins have been controlled by LastPass, and I can see that the box was unchecked. I tried to see if going into the LastPass program and disabling autologin for the site would make a difference, but that box being unchecked is still the default.

I believe there was an interruption during the course of composing the message.

I am assuming you have verified the time date/time zone settings are correct?

Then again if those were jacked up, you would probably receive tons of certificate errors whenever you went to most websites....

Seems to me the last time this happened, the solution that worked(up until now) was to clear the cache and cookies. If you're clearing/deleting cookies on a regular basis then the "Remember Me?" box setting will be cleared too.

As for "an interruption" could you elaborate a little? If the box was left unchecked and the connection was momentarily lost that would explain it.

It also gets cleared if you signed out of your last session. That's why I suggest ticking it on every login. If I don't do that then any browser diversion, however brief, causes me to be logged out and unable to post.

Yep, same here. I should have added that too.:-o

    Thanks.
