Remove the battery bay panel on the bottom of the Canon cartridge chip resetter. Insert the included battery into the battery bay, then replace the battery bay panel.

Set the Canon cartridge chip resetter on a flat surface.

Insert the refilled cartridge into the chip resetter with the metal contacts facing down and the label facing up so the cartridge number is right-side up.

Press down on the cartridge so that it contacts firmly against the chip resetter contacts. The red light on the chip resetter will flash once, then show a solid light. The solid light indicates that the chip on the ink cartridge has been reset to read as if the cartridge is new, meaning "full."

Remove the cartridge from the chip resetter and install it into the Canon Pixma iP3500 printer.

Thank you for answering, but maybe I did not make myself very clear. It is the waste inkpads counters. I am already filling my own catridges and resetting the catridge chip. Seemingly if I cannot reset the waste ink counters I have to get a new printer as there is no Canon service shop in Ireland and the cost of sending Printer to Uk. is nearly the cost of a new printer. Thank You. Boneyeye
