I want to be able to watch/listen to PC (in an office) content and control it, mouse style rather than remote, from other rooms in the house (bed & sitroom)...please advise best way to do this?

Note i have and tried media streaming box and Powerline Ethernet Adapters, but they have slow rsponse, and lack ease/speed of control, hence mouse style requirement.

It would likely need tosedn HDMI wirlessly and allow a mouse to connect too.

You could try VNC but still it has a refresh limit so it's slightly jumpy.
I would recomend TeamView which can stream it to another PC but still that only one part of the problem solved.

Now to solve the next part of the problem, you can wirelessly steam data from a PC to TV using different methords, if you have some skill in soldering and understand the basics of radio mechanics and circuts and can read simple schmatics then you can build a AV repeater then get a VGA to AV cable an attach it to that then build the receiver unless your TV supports manual tuning.

But... that's all a bit complicated but is possible and simple if you are skilled in that way like me. So I recomend looking arround for a prebuilt simalar device or look at something like this

Thanks, although I am quite technical, I'd prefer something out of the box, and none of those provide the control requirement.

you could use a CAT5 KVM switch. It will let you extend your mouse keyboard and video over CAT5 network cable. Trouble is the boxes are very expensive and will only let you extend to one location, unless you want to spend thousands

TBH it is probably cheaper to buy a laptop and carry it round

Instead of streaming it to a TV from a laptop or what ever method you use I would recommend just using a laptop, and I don't see what's
wrong with Team Viewer- http://majorgeeks.com/TeamViewer_d5911.html seems it has a fast refresh rate and takes very little technical skill.

I don't want to use other PCs (1 for each TV), due to expense, noise, having to turn /off, maintain, electric cost to power - its just behind the times, and their must be simpler ways of doing.
I f I were to connect via cable (which style wouldbe th prefreed option: HDMI etc.), but more importantly how do i control the remote PC from another room?

Possibly blue tooth mouse and keyboard depending on distance and wall thickness.

CAT5 KVMs would not need another PC but would prob be more expensive than a PC

Other than what has been suggested I dont believe there is another way.

Just done a further search: there are quite few 5.8GHz video transmitters (PC to TV) apearing on the market, but seems to be in its infancy, like Flyimage, that also come with a control.....i just wonder how good the picture is, and if the control is any good.
Next step is a PC that is wifi ready which are coming, i assuem these will connect to home networks, it will then be a matter of a good control that works on wifi, and has track balll or pad built in.........just can't believe I' always 5 years ahead in wanting stuff.....

The only thing I can suggest now is using a device simalar to the device you was talking about, have multiple of theose devices connecting
to multiple TVs all around your hosue all from one Laptop/PC.

I like the looks of the Flyimage devices but I can see your point about then looking unstylish, though style shouldn't been your concern right now because where running out of solutions...

In my head I came up with the Ultimate solution but it's a bit off track, using something like an iPod Touch/iPhone or Windows Mobile you could carry that arround in your
Pocket though I suggest if you don't own either of the products then get a Windows Mobile or a Windows Mobile PDA/Pocket PC because those devices are soo cheap...

You can always gen VNC for those devices or TeamViewer and most of the Windows Pocket PCs have Wi-Fi Inbuilt.
And we're talking about devices just for a staggering £10-20 from Ebay!
I own one my self but it dosn't have Wi-Fi inbuilt but I can still connect it to the web alternative ways.
But trust me they are pretty good devices and they can even be Over-Clocked!
