Waterfox Update

Waterfox asked me to update which I did but now it will not work, I have deleted and re-installed but it still will not work. I get a page with "new tab" flashing on top left corner but any address I put in nothing happens.
I am worried about my bookmarks as half seem to have disappeared.

Have done a system restore going back one week but when clicking Waterfox icon I get the message "couldn't load XPCOM"
Sorry forgot to say Running win 10.

System Restore only restores system files, not third party apps. For a complete backup of your system you have to use an imaging system such as Macrium Reflect or the system imaging function in Windows 7/8.1/10

I think this is more than just a problem with waterfox update, my printer will not print unless I restart my pc and after I sign in as it loads it prints.
I have been into windows security to do a scan and it works for about 25 seconds and then stops and will not go any further the same with Malwarebytes it gets to scanning file system and just hangs

Have moved my problem over to Malware Help as it looks like I have a virus.
Some of the programs they asked me to download would not download and they seem to think I don't have permission to run these programs when I checked user accounts it said "Credential Manager"
They then told me to post in the software forum to get instructions on logging into an Administrator account, I have checked again today in User Accounts and it says "Administrator" but still will not download some programs.

According to Microsoft support to log in you go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Manage User Accounts, there is no Manage User accounts on this page.

 

Have added a family member.
My account now says Administrator.

Thought I would come back and let you know how I was getting on.
I assumed that the download from Waterfox messed up the registry so I reinstalled Win 10 using the windows disk image tool which allows you to install win 10 and keep all your files and apps, now all is working as normal.

So, you had no virus then. Reinstalling Windows always helps when you really don't know what you have. Reset this PC is the best tool Microsoft has come up with.

 

Probably not. I didn't even look at the date. My bad.
