Wave volume keeps resetting to zero

Hello Friends,

I have a rather strange problem that i've never seen before and don't suspect it is related to any type of malware. Everytime i reboot/start my computer my wav. volume keeps resetting to zero. I tried to tweak different properties concerning my sound card to no avail. I know, its not a big problem, but after awhile it gets extremely frustrating to have to constantly set my volume. Any suggestions???

after some research i have learned that perhaps this is related to a malware issue...specifically an MBR infection. I have a case/thread open in the malware forum...i will run it by them
