OK LETS DO THIS! Alright Topic one... the Geforce8800GTX... Topic Two

    Winows Vista...

Let me start with the 8800GTX: Soo the 8800 Series is a new card that I bought and I am sure everyone has heard of. From what i have read in other forums and reviews is that this damn thing dont have Vista Drivers at all. Ok interesting... And also they "claim" its a "DX10" card. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm? Makes you wonder when the production started on these cause I notice there is no DX10 yet and there is No Vista... Now think about it people the more Software we upgrade the more powa it needs... Well my Point is this where do they get off selling crap we are not prepared for? Every god damn Bench mark we have ever seen was on XP and 3D Mark 06 with this card...I started to think about it, If this card can blow crap away on XP what will happen when True DX10 is out and Vista is no longer BETA. I know there will be a 3Dmark 07 cause of DX10 and plus Vista on top of that... Man that sounds like a Killer already and if we do not get vista then BOOM! no DX10 for us? That sucks... So we will basicly be forced to buy A .*'+NEW'+*. OS that has not proven itself. I know there will be errors up the *** and new things. Shoot XP is still Buggy. If you ask me I would say the G80 might get Raped or It was all a trick cause its suggestive selling for some one to boost something else with out even trying... Only reason people say that these G80's will Rock is cause we tested it on XP So honestly no one knows its like trying to find a ball underneath 1000 cups... Eventually you will find the ball but how long will that take? Some times I think back to when I bought the card and think I might have gotten scammed cause theres no Drivers for Vista... you can not make drivers for something that isnt even out yet well thats wat I think. This crap I hear about BETA Vista Drivers? WTF??!?! Peoplee are only running these G80s at Half powa if you ask me with Drivers that Run it but dont use it to the max.

I shoulda Waited G80's are a Trap but hey know what Im using right now? a Geforce 5200 FX... was I wrong to build a New system? lol been years need to keep up some way

    Topic Deuc: WINDOWS VISTA

Everyone knows about this stupid thing I heard good and bad things about this OS.... Well the good stuff would be the New graphics and supposedly "BETTER" security. Yay... -_- new stuff Kinda You can prolly DL a program that makes your windows invisibo PFFT! I can do that with my gefoce5200FX ROFL on XP, Not special any more r u Vista? The bad thing, changes. They changed alot of options and Useful tools like Defrag... you can no long see the process or what it changed...gay. They prolly messed with registry too but thats a hunch. I do not like the fact that MS is building us up... It sucks to have limited choices OS's dont just grow on trees. I also read on the Vista that it will consume more Power from the CPU via memory/CPU usage JUST BECAUSE OF THAT SHOWY CRAP invisible this and that and 3D windows. I dont know anymore these decisions are getting harder... But really people are always gonna blam the hell outta something anyways... But Im just letting you know how I feel ... just to express myself on the matters in my own Opinion

If anyone else has anything to say about these two products Post it up:cool:

Vista isnt out. You dont have Vista. You bought a video card that runs optimally on a operating system that isnt out yet. Had you read as much as you said, you would have waited for Vista, the only os to have DX10, or picked another card for XP. Also, if Vista was out, and the drivers and DX10 today, you would still lack DX10 games. Your a good 3 months too early buying that card. Your whole rant is based on speculation, rumors and things you have been told. I have used Vista. You have about a month to wait and all your questions can be answered personally, but until then, I dont get the rant about a card and os that are in reality, a combination very few have access to. Vista is available to corporations only.

Its Christmas. Loosen up, go spend some time with family :)

Its the least buggy of MS OSes, next to Windows 2000, which is bascially the same thing. Windows 2000 took 3 service packs. Windows NT4 took 7, if you take into account 6 and 6a. Windows XP only took 2. Windows ME never became better than a buggy POS, 98 was better, but still cannot hold a flame to XP.

Then add that Windows 2003 is based off of Windows XP, then that Windows Vista is based off of 2003 SP1...

Vista has come a long way. However, simple common sense has taught us along the way that early birds always get the bugs...er worms.

First generation cars have problems. First generation OSes have issues. First revision hardware has issues half the time.

Technologoy is a constant improvement. There is no way all possible scenarios can be accounted for in beta testing.

As for Windows XP being buggy?

No, not really, when you look at previous MS OSes. Thats a ludicrous comment. Security sucks, other things are left to be desired, but the OS itself is pretty darn stable and complete. Its just showing its age, is all.

Adrynalyne mentioned something I wanted to. Best deals on technology are always to look at the newest, fastest thing, then buy the previous one. Reason being is the newest hardware is not widely accepted and may have bugs that drivers or firmware will eventually fix. I found this to be especially true on motherboards and video cards. It also applies often to processors, but strictly cost issue there.

I have frequently bought the hottest new hardware only to deal with bugs and issues.

OMG why oh why did I click to open this thread..

Hear and use are two different things, many dissing this OS have not used it... so how do they know what the final version is like.... drivers where pittiful when XP first rolled out too, they cannot account for all drivers but Vista final has many more than XP ever had shipped as default on the DVD and on WU, but they will not cover all as some 3rd parties will have to play catchup... ATi and Nvidia are ahead of the game in this respect as they have many betas available during Vista beta testing... Ati are infront of Nvidia IMO on stability and a final good working driver but Nvidia will have 100% final drivers by Vista relaese date for retail on Jan 30th 07.

How do you know they messed the registry up.. you seen the Vista registry????? Speculation and rumours............. I have seen how the registry is in Vista so could comment, but why bother you have made your mind up without actually using the software.... good luck to you :)

LOL, I remember Windows 2000 RTM, when it wouldn't even boot to normal mode without a black screen without finding leaked, beta drivers for certain motherboard chipsets.

That was retail version release with that problem.

I'm sorry to hear that, but in truth, its your responsibility to do your homework before starting a project.

    Better informed= better end product.

We all learn our lessons. :)
