weather watcher opens "office2002"?

    I downloaded the new version of weather watcher,when I open the exe."wordperfect office2002 try before you buy" opens instead and tries to install. I have uninstalled weather watcher,ran a search for W.W.and deleted any I found and re downloaded W.W.,same thing. Does anybody have any idea what is wrong? :mad:

    Would like to see a screenshot of this as Weather Watcher at last check was a safe program. Im thinking theres another unrelated issue. Have you recetly scanned for spyware or viruses?

    I have scanned with ad-aware,spy-bot,mcafee anti-spyware and virus scan 8, avg pro, web-root. Ad-aware comes up with a browser hy-jacker each scan which I remove, everything else is clean. How do I post a screenshot?

    I had a similar problem recently with two other apps. Basically what I found is the first file – (in this case office 2002) - either left a temp folder of install files or never finished the install and the second file, (in this case, weather watcher), was making a call to the same file name in an attempt to install. Windows was getting confused with the paths/names.

    Two things to try – 1) clear out your temp files and try an install. If not – 2)reinstall office completely. That should do it.

    Try what CP said above, he uses that program, but... I have a couple questions...

    I hate added in menu bars, never know what you got, if you did not install it, delete and\or check add remove programs for it:
    O4 - Startup: WinBar.lnk = C:\Program Files\WinBar\WinBar.exe

    Per the Hijack this tutorial, anyhting under 014 thats not the provider of your computer, or internet is a hijack. So if this is neither, delete it:
    O14 - IERESET.INF: START_PAGE_URL=http://greene.xtn.net

    General rule, 018 are assumed to be all bad. Might kill that.
    O18 - Protocol: x-mem1 - {C3719F83-7EF8-4BA0-89B0-3360C7AFB7CC} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\wowctl2.dll

    This assumes you know a bit about whats running or installed on your pc, sounds like you do. In other words, its often hard ot be sure something should be deleted.
