I am looking for advice on very entry level (beginner) HTML web page design software. I am more of a HW guy who's trying to learn web design on his own :) There's a ton of choices out there so I thought I'd narrow it down a litlle.

I always liked Arachnophilia, and found it easy to work with. It's a freebie, too. You can find it
    here .

Hell.. Microsoft Word, if you have it, is a powerful web page design program. You could even use templates to start out with, along with help files and tutorials that may be provided. Good luck.

P.S. There's a ton of information, enough, in fact, to learn HTML on your own through resources on the internet. Search around the web some... you'll find tons of stuff.

Perhaps one of the easiest softwares for beginners in developing professional-looking flash websites is called swish. It's simple and easy to understand. In a matter of less than an hour, amazing websites can be mastered.

Confused yet, smittji's? As you see by the replies, there are many options, and I'm thinking the lack of consensus on a particular tool here may not be helping you in your decision.

Use of Notepad, as suggested, means you must master HTML because you would be creating all the code from the keyboard.

For a web authoring software (and it's freeware) that allows web page creation without mastering HTML, I suggest KompoZer
