What is a good web hosting company that gives lots of space for free?

 

Are there any specifications to what you want? Such as no adds? No popups? etc..?

i dont care if there are ads and popups. i have norton net security so ill never see them. i just need a site with a good amount of space for free for my web design class.

Heres the site requirements.

Description: Your assignment is to create a newspaper website for a fictitious city or a fictitious school. Follow each step below to receive all of the total possible points for this assignment, which is 33% of your grade in this class. (See Website Rubric link file at the top left of this page)

You will design a multi-page website consisting of a home page and at least 4 secondary pages. The website must be completely new – from the ground up. It must not be copied in any way, shape or form.


The first page of your newspaper site (home page) should have navigation to (news, about us, classifieds, subscribe). You can add an extra page or two (sports, entertainment, community or school events) for extra credit points if you wish.


Since you are creating a "newspaper", you must have at least 1 story on each page. Let your creative juices flow and give me a good 2 paragraphs on each story. Make good use of the formatting tools as well as the alignment tools. Add appropriate headings for your stories (see sample sites below). Place your photos in your pages so the text wraps.
Tip on layout of home page: Most online newspaper formats have a very structured home page. They normally have a large banner or masthead that runs across the top of the home page and a wide colored or textured bar that runs down the left side of the page. Please follow this same format. Again, refer to the sample websites listed below. They are all designed well for ease of navigation and use.

You must include the following in your site:
• Page formatting using 3-4 tables
• Text formatting using 2-3 types of fonts and sizes
• Two lists – numbered and bulleted
• At least 8-9 photos and 5 clip art images (4 photos/clipart must wrap text on one side)
• At least 4 External links to pages that load in a new browser window using
• A link for your email address (that functions)
• A contact me/us form (that sends results to your email)
• A logo or business name that will appear at the top of each page
• Navigation link bars on each page that link to each other
• A copyright and updated date at the bottom of each page
• At least 2 animations and sound file
• At least 1 video file

 

Ok i found one that should work just fine. It's only $2.95 a month and I only need it for one month. So thanks any way.

 

For all future reference I found a site that lists webhosting sites. http://www.free-webhosts.com/
It categorizes them based upon what scripts they offer, adds/no adds, etc.. I find it very resouceful. Some people might like to look into this.

 

Your assignment does not need a lot of space.

You can install free server on you computer and design the whole thing calmly on your own computer.

If it needs to be on the web you can use DNS service and put it free on the Web.
