Web page opens as an icon I must click on

I have recently run into this stange quirk. I am using IE 6 something as my browser.

When I go to a new web page instead of it opening fully, the web page is represented as a rectangle in the correr of the screen. I then have to click on it to maximise the web page. What a hassel!!!

Anyone know how to fix this with a change in the IE settings?
