hey guys. simple question that ive been racking my brain on. i want to send docs to my home printer from the web. problem is I don't have a desktop that's always on to remote in to.
    here's my setup-
    lynksys wireless router
    some generic brand cable modem
brother mfc wireless printer, which i connect to through the router

i guess i just want to remote into the printer, if that's even possible?
please help a guy with a wicked headache :banghead
    thanks in advance!!!!!

I think some clarification is needed. You refer to your "home" printer and you mention "to remote in". Are you normally at home when doing this or away from home and connecting to your home computer via remote access?

i apologize. i have no problems when i am at home. i want to be able to send the docs to the printer at home when i am not, so they are ready when i get there.
i may not be using the term 'remote' correctly. if i had a desktop always on, i would use remote desktop to access the desktop and print from there, as if i was sitting at it. just don't have that.

I don't know whether or not that can be done. Apparently, it can be done with the right printer and network setup, based on some Google finds, such as Configuring remote access. I suggest you visit your printer manufacturer's website and search for info on this. If they have no info how remotely accessing your model printer, then it probably can't be done.

Also, I think you have at least two alternatives to remote printing. One technique would simply be to email links to the web documents to yourself and retrieve them at home. Another technique would be to install a PDF converter program, such as PrimoPDF, on your computer away from home, print/convert those web documents to PDF documents, and email those PDF files to yourself.

Or use a vpn type router, and vpn to the home network, giving you a secure access to your internal network on what ever machine your currently using, assuming your able to use/install vpn software on that machine. This allowing you to print to the network printer like you were at home.
