Web site construction questions

I figure that by now I’m the last person on earth that doesn’t have a web site for their business and I have a few questions. What’s the best route to take putting together a site? I’ve seen a few places on the web with templates and I’ve seen books about building sites. I don’t know HTML. How should I go about putting a site together? Should I have a professional put one together? How much does it cost for a professional to design a web site? What are the monthly costs? Can a site be designed so I can easily make changes like changing pictures when I need to? Is it hard to add links? Any thoughts and ideas would be a big help.

You can think of a website as a large brochure catering to the web. But it is also a powerful Marketing tool that can work for you or against. What I mean by that, is that you have to think thoroughly on what you are placing on the web. Is it a product? A service? Are you planning on selling something? If so, you need a secure site or people will not purchase. But most of all, you must know who your customer is. And watch what your competitors are doing.



Create a plan of what you would like to promote on the web or Market. What kind of websites do you competitors have? Draw up a chart of where the path of the pages would go. Where do they want to be redirected to or not.
