WebRebates_CDT_InstallSilent.exe

Hello.

This is my first post...ever and if I'm in the wrong area please feel free to direct me to the right one.

I had a problem earlier in the week with Trojan horse Dropper.Delf.3.L and recieved help from this site by following the instructions posted by Sgt. Sweetie "DO NOT POST UNTIL YOU HAVE READ THIS: How to : Spyware, Trojan and Virus Removal"

Everything seems to be working fine, however I was in C:\temp and saw the three following files. WebRebates_CDT_InstallSilent.exe SearchRelevancy.exe WinTaskAdInstPack.exe

Are these familiar with anyone?
Are they spyware or worse harmful?
If so, how do I properly remove them?

Please keep in mind if you had to rate my computer know-how on a scale of 1 - 10...I'd be a 4. I just need step by step instructions with a little bit more explanation.

My computer is running Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2

Hi Global,

You should take a look in Add or Remove Programs for Web Rebates and any other suspicious entries and Delete the ones that do not belong.
Try doing the same in your Program Files folder.

You might also Flush your Temp files:

Go to Start > Run and type: cleanmgr. Make sure the boxes for these are checked:
Temporary Files
Temporary Internet Files
Recycle Bin

And Click OK.

Note that your HijackThis should be up-to-date (v1.98.2) and MUST be extracted to its own safe folder - C:\Program Files\HijackThis!

Also note that, before you scan, you MUST close all running programs including your web browser, e-mail and items in the system tray.

Please save your HJT Log and attach it via the "Manage Attachments" tool in the Additional Options section when you post.
