Webshots

Trying to unload Webshots as wallpaper.
Using Win98SE, i configure Windows not to use any wallpaper at all then i tell Webshots not to use one either but Webshots keeps coming up over and over again. Is there any other way to go around this?

 

Webshots does indeed have an uninstaller.

Try that and let us know if it still bothers you afterwards.

 

Don't really want to uninstall Webshots as i still use it as screen saver.

 

There's a Webshots startup item you can disable with msconfig.exe

That could disable the screensaver too tho...

 

Could be a possible trick.
Then perhaps after choosing Webshots as screen saver it'll stick to that request alone.

msconfig did the trick! Webshots icon doesn't show up in the tray, it does not display a wallpaper but still works as screen saver!

 

I'm sure I read somewhere that Webshots contains adware or spyware. I used to use it ages ago. Reading these posts I went to google and searched on " Webshots, adware, spyware" and came up with this rebuttal from Webshots own site.

Hi, have you tried opening properties on your desktop (right click anywhere on the desktop) and after selecting Background you will see in the list the choices including Webshots. Select the one you want, Select APPLY and then close. This should fix your problem
