    Today I was on this website with a laptop. www.ourfamilysearch.org , and i can always access it on that laptop. But some computers can't access it. As though it doesn't exist. 2 out of 5 computers can access it that I tried today. I typed ipconfig in the cmd prompt to compare settings. Only difference I noticed was the connection-dns suffix, So i compared the 2 computers network properties and configured them both the same. now the dns suffix is the same, but it still can't access the site.

    All computers from the same ISP on the same wireless internet connection. same router. etc.
    I know its not spyware or viruses, scanned for those and computers run fine and access all other sites fine!

    The person who told me about the site said it was only available to people in Arizona. I'm totally confused. I am in Arizona.

    Any Ideas?

    My DNS server does not resolve "ourfamilysearch.org". Are you sure that the site isn't gone and that the computer you have that "can" access it isn't using a cached copy of the site? Even using on-line DNS lookups, I can't resolve that name. Do a DNSLOOKUP of the domain name on the computer that works and see what IP address it gives you. If it resolves to something, try http'ing directly to that IP address from the computer that doesn't work.

    Alright thanks guys, but that doesn't help. I know it wasn't in the cache for one of the computers I accessed the site with, because that was the first time it had accessed the internet since its fresh OS install. I did try the DNS Refresh one one of the computers that didn't work and it did not help.

    My theory;
    Have you ever tried to access this site from the USA? www.torrentspy.com
    It says this site is no longer available to people in the United States, sorry. I imagine it knows where you are from from your ip address. I think this site particularly only wants people from Arizona ISP to access the site. I think it does not have a default page for people who don't fall under that ip category.
    I hope this theory helps you help me.

    I know it doesn't seam to make since, but I had two laptops on the same wireless connection in the same residents, and to one computer the web site didn't exist. These were live pages, not recalled pages. I told the people i would research the issue and get back to them(customers) Since getting home I have not been able to access the site.. all connections have been through a router however. I'm thinking ill try the library and see if the get the site out of curiosity. The site exists no matter how crazy I seam.

    Thanks.
