website I.M video prob

im trying to use the video/audio on a websites I.M but no matter what browser and all the usual settings and tricks it just wont give the options...oddly when i tried sending an i.m to a fellow housemate the options are there! what would be the problem here as the website techs are ghosts.

 

There is no way to tell with a post this vague. You can't sign in to the site's IM or you can't access the options once you are signed in? What are you trying to change?

What are the usual settings and tricks? Disabled firewall and filtering on your A/V? What OS are you running?

 

i can use the i.m..just not the video and audio and im not trying to change anything...just want to use the video but it wont highlight the option

and yes the usual tricks like u mentioned...firewall etc...and ive tried xp and vista...diff pcs...diff browsers.....everything.

 

Sounds like it's not detecting the camera? Is your camera built in or external? If it's external, if you wait to connect it until you are signed in, does that help at all?

Does the site have a forum for users to help each other? It's going to be a tough one to troubleshoot here.

 

no its nothing like that as i mentioned in the first post...i tested sending an i.m to my friend who is on the site too and also lives in my house...and it detected the cam vice versa no problems....but if i try the video to any other member its not giving me the video option....as if something is blocking locally on my network...and it cant be the site as my friend is picking the video up.
