WebWorks 2.0 _ is It a Nasty

My OS 98SE
In Windows\Downloaded program Files I have a file WebWorks Help 2.0.OSD. Opening it up with a view anything program I note it has lots of references to names such as apache.xerces. Viewing its properties shows that no info available about who the originator of the file is. There is also considerable reference to it in my registry. Question - Do I need it - has some spyware got thru adaware/spybot - is it a sleeping virus awaiting a call up - should I BU registry and kill it and all its reg entries.
Grateful for any info from you experts out there in Geek Land

Well as per the usual checking that you have the latest reference file and AV update and scanning...
Google did bring up one hit:

So it looks like it could be something to do with a browser hijack.

This isn't my "field", but maybe that is of some use to you.

As for messing with the reg, I am not sure that it is a good idea, tho maybe as a last resort try that.

Before I would see what programs/services are loading at start up
start>run>msconfig

Thanks Guys - on looking at it again it seems to be some sort of a java package. The renaming/moving option looks good and will try that
