Weird Browsing Problem

Hello Everyone,

I have a really bizarre issue continuously occurring with my internet.

I'm using the latest version of IE, and my OS is Windows XP. The problem is that frequently when I'm browsing the internet, the web page I'll be on will convert into the "This page cannot be displayed" page, it will stay like that for a couple of seconds, and then redisplay the page.

At first I thought it was the specific site, but I later realized that this happens to any site I'm on. Furthermore, this happens many times per day and everytime I'm browsing the internet.

what kind of internet connection do you have?
is it reliable?

 

I have cable internet and it is quite reliable. The problem I have been experiencing is a recent one.

When the problem occurs, the internet connection remains open as I can still use msn messenger. I simply get the "page cannot be displayed" message for a couple of seconds, and then the page reloads.

Sometimes I even get a popup that says "windows has detected viruses...", which I know is garbage, but I'm not sure if the two symptoms are related.

 

Possibly. Spyware intercepting what websites you're going on, and redirecting you to an "ad site" which doesn't exist/has been blocked, and then forwarding you to the correct site.....
