WEIRD Hard Drive problem...

    I've been through THREE of these drives now, on phone with Maxtor, and ASrock, I have a Maxtor 6L300S0 Sata 150 hard drive, ASrock P4v88 Motherboard specs for motherboard:

    Anyways, I use my computer, everything is fine, then one day I get a blue screen error, And xp will not boot. Brought drive to Best Buy, and drive will not boot. I'm lost now. Anyone offere any help?

    You get an error? Post the exact error.
    Unlikely HDD if you have tryed three of em, What's the odds of that?

    First thought Asrock bottom of the barrel MOBO, known to be problematic.
    Check asrock web, any Bios update pertaining too HDD problems.
    Are you Ocing? OC too far can Hose windows.
    Have you tryed to boot in safe mode?
    Have ya tryed to Repair or reinstall Windows?

    Asus - what do you mean by "OCing".
    He's right by thinking its probably a mobo issue (a hdd controller most likely).
    The error message will be the key.

    went and bought add-on sata card, and so far so good. We'll see what happens. I think was conflict by chipset on mobo and SATA drive
