A friend has a Dell laptop (I think Dell) with XP (I think home) on it.
I went over to check out her problem and this is what she gets with bootup.
    ------------------------------------
    Client Mac Adder: 00 0B DB 97 06 19
    Guid: 44454C4C-5400-1035-8042-B8C04F593231
    PXE-ES3: No boot filename received
    PXE-M0F: Exiting Broadcom PXE ROM
    Operating System not found
    ------------------------------------
She got this a long time ago, but I was able to get her back up and running.
Don't even recall now what I did, but it worked for about 6 months.
The laptop is only about 1 1/2 years old
Any ideas as to how to handle this and get her back in to her PC?

    Linda

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can check?

Hey Linda, that message is ussaly when a hard drive is set but no OS is there; it could have been totaled by a virii or a trojan. If its a dell they come with reinstallation software that includes WXP

Just to be sure, make sure there is no floppy disk in the drive. ;)

Other than that, I agree with Omegamerc.

it could be that the boot order is set wrong. it looks like it is trying to boot through a lan off of a network drive.

It is the boot order in the BIOS. It is trying to boot fom the network card.

Set the hard disk as the first boot option and you should be good to go.

I realize this is an old thread but I had an HP DL360 with a similar error and the array controller had a bad battery back cache module. It pooped out on bootup and produced the infamous 'press F1 to continue' key (which can also be disabled until this is fixed).
