    Hi there!

Before I start, here are my specs:
    OS - Windows 10 Home 64-bit
    CPU - Intel Core i5 2500k @ 3.30GHz
    Grapics - 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
    Motherboard - MSI P67A-G45
    RAM - 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3@ 798MHZ

Alright, so essentially, on various games over the past year or so I've been experiencing various sensitivity/lag issues.
I think the best way to explain this is to just give some examples.

So I started playing Fortnite back when I had a GTX 960 and I was getting this weird thing where my mouse would occasionally feel really sluggish like I was dragging it through mud or something. I couldn't ever fully figure out if it happened more frequently in more performance demanding situations however. (I just mean lots of people around/more projectiles in the area etc). Anyway, I upgraded from the 960 to the 1060, from 8gb of RAM to 16, and from a 600w PSU to a 750w psu. The lag/sluggish mouse situation has happened much less frequently since then although it has not been entirely eradicated and the game still does not run as smoothly as I hoped it would. (Mostly when multiple people are in the area around me I have noticed)

What confuses me further, however, is that when I am playing a game called Awesomenauts (a 2D moba which certainly isn't performance intensive), I am experiencing sort of the opposite issue. At random occasions my sensitivity will shoot up extremely high. This is incredibly disruptive and I can't understand how a computer with my specs can't handle this game perfectly.

I also just bought No Man's Sky and I can more or less run the game at 60fps but very frequently the mouse will jump (similar to in Awesomenauts) and skip right ahead as if the sensitivity has randomly increased, rendering the game near unplayable.

FYI it's not an issue with my mouse as I have tested other people's which work perfectly for them.

So, what is causing this issue? The main idea I have is that my CPU is either faulty or just too old. I don't think I should be experiencing the lag that I am across many games and so any enlightenment on the situation would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

PS. My apologies if that was a little lengthy, always have struggled with conciseness:)

Thanks very much for the reply coyote! I've installed and run both the cleaner and the general malware protection software that you linked and will report back with results just as soon as I have them!
