originally when i got my puter i already had a printer ( Epsom) and a scanner (snap scan). couldn't get snap scan to work so went and bought a new hp does everything deal. when we installed it, it wouldn't work either. was told by hp that it 'didn't like' the other printer still being connected. disconnected the Epsom and hp worked fine. yesterday my puter suddenly kept trying to use Epsom. deleted everything that i could find that said Epsom and everything was OK. just printed something out and now snap scan is on my hardware list. don't need advice (presumably i just do the same - delete everything thats says agfa or snap scan) but thought that if there is an explanation it might help someone else not to buy new when old would work. aloha laurie. (ps i 'discovered' this coz my print window now sez 'add printer')

yeah if its one of those snapscans that uses the parallel port .... I have noticed all sorts of issues that the produce as if you have a parallel printer as well they have to be daisy chained and just dont want to work together...... one way I found around this was to install the snapscan first then install the printer drivers, generally they wouldnt work but install the drivers again and you end up with two printer drivers installed and funny enough the second version worked so we just deleted the first lot.

glad you got it going the sun must be shining on you today, plus saves spending more money!
