Weird Problem With .wmv Files

Whenever I open a .wmv file with Media Player Classic Home Cinema, I get this weird problem with the video. It looks like it's just breaking down. Blocky shapes of various sizes and weird drooling effects like wet paint running down a canvas. Sometimes it happens immediately when the video opens and sometimes I have to click on the seek bar. Most often it happens when I click on the seek bar. I'm not having this problem with any other video format and I don't see it when I test .wmvs in other players. Just .wmvs with MPC HC. I'm worried because this is the first time it's ever happened before. .wmvs used to play fine in MPC HC. But now suddenly I'm getting this weird effect of the image drooling and breaking up into blocks.

Does this happen with all WMV files?

Most of the ones I've tested, yep. But I have hundreds.

    Sorry, I missed that.
I think the problem is with MPC - HC.

Which specific other players have you tested it in where they work perfectly?
Is the version of MPC-HC you are using 1.7.10?

Seems I've narrowed the problem down to the WMV codec. A WMV 7 or 8 video plays fine but if it's WMV 9, then it drools. But all the WMV 9 videos I have USED to play fine so I don't understand what's gone wrong.

GOM Player and Windows Media Player. I prefer to use MPC-HC though.

    Yep.

Thanks anyway but I've heard bad things about that. I'd rather just try to pin down the source of this problem. It's not like WMV 9 videos have always drooled on me. This is something new. So I'd like to figure out the cause of it.

Thanks anyway again but none of those problems apply to me.

Would there be any problem with you making a video of this issue.

So we can see what it is doing.

Some times it's better to see it than trying to explain the issue.

I'll try to make a screenshot of what the problem looks like.

Problem solved! I clicked on View, Options, Internal Filters, and checked the box for WMV1/2/3 in the Transform Filters column.

BTW I have all Internal Filters checked in MPC - BE.

Me too now. Well not MPC - BE, whatever that is, but MPC - HC.

MPC - BE is Media Player Classic - Black Edition.
