Weird Ram problem

    Ok, my mate has this weird problem with ram, if hes running a few applications like Kazaa and Msn at the same times he gets an ominous bsod telling about physical memory error. Hes running Windows XP with 512MB of ram With a P4 with a speed of about 2.56Ghz. Whatdya think?

    im going to get him to do memtest and see what we get with that. im thinking hes got a dud stick.

    oh dear. it seems he didnt defrag for a long time. thats probably the problem. ill get him to do that anyway. Thanks for the input jujet84 :)
