weird restarting

I can't start my computer due to some drivers (catalyst 5.6) a guy gave me, Everytime I start It restarts. Worked up untill I installed them. And guess what, I cant uninstall'em. When I selec t uninstall it does it and restarts and yet they are right there still on. add/remove programs doesnt work just frezzes and restats for no reason. I cant acces "my computer" It just searches for stuff and does nuthing. I dont know what to do.

 

Does the problem remain if you boot into safe mode? To do so, power on your computer and repeatedly hit F8 until you are presented with a menu. Select safe mode, and continue to boot. If this works, you can uninstall the driver, and depending on your OS, perform a system restore. Good luck.

 

No it works fine in safe mode and how do u do a system restore?

 

If you have an OS that supports it (WinME & XP), and you have it enabled, you click start --> all programs --> accessories --> system tools --> system restore.

You should be presented with a menu. Select the radio button that says 'Restore My Computer To An Earlier Time' and press next. You should be shown a calendar with all the available restore points highlighted in bold . Select the one right before your driver install and continue. The system is restored to that time.

You could also try simply rolling back the driver. This would save any major system changes that may have occurred. To do so in windowsXP, right-click my computer and select properties. On the hardware tab, press the device manager button. Right click the device that's causing you troubles, and click properties. On the driver tab, press the roll back driver button. This will revert to your previous driver.

 

if your using xp try rolling back the drivers instead of trying to uninstall

 

Thanks alot guys everything works fine, except when it starts, My computer wont open, I mean it will just it shows that flashlight and it just searches for files forever. Then a couple minutes later it opens fine and it isnt set in groups like I always set it to be. I mean it doesnt bother me but if anyone has any idea what is causeing it, shoot.
