Weird and embarrassing problem. My volume seems to get toned down every time I press the left alt key. It suddenly happened without warning. I did not install new hardware or software.

I tried to search everywhere and on even similar cases to know why this happens but I still come up empty.

I tried to checked my headphone and keyboard cables, seems fine.

Tested the keyboard on another computer, seems fine and handles no same situation.

Can anyone help me in this WTF situation?

    OS: Windows XP SP2
Sound Device: VIA AC'97 Audio Controller(WDM)

That is an odd one, don't know why it's embarrassing though. :-o
I'd try reinstalling the sound drivers. Good to update every now and then anyway.
But why haven't you installed SP3? Support for XP2 ends July 13 this year. :wave

I don't have a copy of SP3 and I might not need one in the future.

Sound drivers are up-to-date, heck, ALL drivers are up-to-date. Still don't know how to solve this problem.

I'm not pretty sure bout this but i think you can download a program that can tweak keyboards setting and idk tweak the left alt to something diffrent
