Weird trouble

    I really hope someone can help me, since I'm paralyzed from the neck down and my computer is very important to me.
    I'm really grateful for all the help I can get, thanks a lot in advance.

    Here's my problem

    I have very recently built a new computer (spec. after the message).
    It has been working perfectly since then, except 2 "blue screens of death"
    after the first "blue screen of death" something weird happened: I lost 2 gigabyte RAM. I noticed this when I checked "Performance" in the task manager.
    I have 12 gigabyte RAM (6*2 gb) installed. but after the "bsod" It said 10 gb.
    I didn't react much then, since I thought 10 gb was ok.

    But then yesterday my computer started to act weird; it got really really slow, even small programs like notepad took minutes to start, and restarting the computer took 5-8 minutes. I got depressed and went to bed, this morning I returned and everything was working fine except the restart which still took 5-8 minutes. Then I took a look at the performance monitor again and this time my memory was down to 8 gb.

    I decided to test the computer for real and started battlefield bad company 2 with the graphicsettings turned to max - it worked like a charm (played 3 hours without any lag or problems. But still when I restart the computer it takes 5-8 minutes for it to start and the performance test tells me 8 gb

    My memory is Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600MHz 6GB CL9, (Kit w/3x 2GB XMS3 modules, CL9-9-9-24, for Core i7), http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=492643

    I have changed the Bios settings to 1600 Mhz

    The below listed links may give you some help in diagnosing your problem. The x58 boards are particular about the RAM when it gets over 6 GBs.
    In my particular case, there was never a slow down in boot-up times, so there may be additional problems.
