Weird Website Problem....

okay so i have www.cnn.com on my favorites.... i was viewing this website last night and i came back from class today and tried to access teh website today... got this funky looking website that comes up.... i asked other people to log onto cnn.com (thinking the website got hacked)... and the page appears normal for them... it also appears normal for my roommate who runs on the same network/connection as me.... here is a screenshot of the page i got .... WHAT ON EARTH IS THE CAUSE OF THIS???

get adaware / spybot and run it.

see what you find.. its probably spyware or somthing

 

Just as an extra idea you might want to check your favorites and see if there is one named www.ccn.com. In IE when if you have a favorite named joe and you type joe in the address bar it will load that link. So it is possible some how you got a favorite named www.cnn.com which links to a diffrent site.

It's just a shot in the dark though, there could be tons of reasons for this.

Spaz i'm using a limited (free) issue of a program called Windowblinds.... and the skin i used for it was called XBox Extreme i believe.....

Check to see if IE is going through a proxy
Also rename the "hosts" file in your windows directory to "hosts.bak" and reboot and see if that fixes it.

 

lol thx for the tech help guys but i'm somewhat computer illiterate with regards to what you said jawpaul.... my roommate wasn't having any trouble with teh site.... so i loaded it up on his page, IM'd it to myself, and then added it on my favorites and everything is back to normal =]

 

bump.... anyone? it just did it again.... why the heck is this only happening with cnn.com???
