Weird Win7 problems.

I've had some recent stability issues while OC'ing, and have had to press the restart button several times, which may have caused my problem? and now even after a few hours into windows the bottom right thing, (im not sure what it is called) has gone funny, it wont show the icons properly.

Showed in the attatchment, its hard to explain, just ask if more details are needed.

How do i get this back to normal?

Hi

Have you backed off your OC and set speed to default? if not do so and after Windows boot again is it the same still?

If so then lets see of we can dump the system tray icons and rebuild its list, follwo the below

Open Regedit ( goto Start > type regedit in the Start Search box and hit enter )
Locate the registry key location HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify and right click the folder and choose Export ( this will backup that location for you )

then Delete the two values but right clicking and choose delete both IconStreams and PastIconsStream once deleted hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and look for explorer.exe in the Processes Tab and click it, then choose End Process (at this point it is perfectly normal for your taskbar and all desktop icons to disapear) then with Task Manager still open click the top menu option of New Task (Run...) and in the Open box type explorer and hit enter.

then when you check the Customize Notifications they will all be gone ( apart from some running ones ) best bet is to restore all your actual running tray processes is to re-boot.

After a reboot and an OC tweak, everything is back to normal.
