in winamp settings, i have it so mp3s, and pretty much all music type files are associated with winamp. so when i open my music forder, everything is in order, as in all the songs have icons that say they are winamp music files. however, when i am in winamp, and i push open, it goes to my music folder, but no files show up, the setting at the bottom says "all supported types". however, if i change the setting to "all files", all my music files show up and i can play them. is there a fix for this? its really annoying, oh and i'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with spyware as my computer is spyware free.

damn it today i was organizing my music in itunes, and now in my music folder all the mp3 files icons were changed to itunes icons, but they still open in winamp when you double click. i can't figure this out, maybe it has something to do that i have so many different media players (winamp, itunes, wmp, divx, vlc)?

you need to change the file association.
open up explorer goto tools, folder options, file types, goto mp3 and change the opens with program.
