if F@H GPU client is using the GPU, how come it also behaves like the CPU client in also using 100% of my CPU when idle?
    :confused

Each GPU needs a CPU core. Kinda work in tandem. Major points though!:-D

    I'm finding the same

"The client uses the cpu at 100% but the work is all done on the video card"

It seems to take both a CPU and GPU for it to work. Massive points if you have a decent card...:-D

Rules you out how? You can still use the 'puter while it is Folding. The computer I am on now has 2 CPU's at 100%, and I can't tell the difference. Except the keyboard gets a little warm.:cool

i think he meant he doesnt have a powerful enough graphics card...its too bad that the cuda drivers required dont work on older cards, and they are only for nvidia cards...ati should get in on this!!!

ATI cards fold as well. I got one cranking out a couple of points a day. :-D What card do you have under the hood Cat?

Not sure you would call what the Dell 2400 has a Graphic Card, just able to give me a pic on the screen :) But I really love the old desktop, runs better than my new PC at work, never a hiccup and on 24/7 for years.

Laptop has ATI Radeon™ Xpress 1100, don't think that counts either since shared memory and a laptop.

Folding on both of them but Dell desktop is at 80% due to fan needing to be replaced and Acer laptop is at 90% on one core due to heat issue.

As you know my eyes glaze over Fred when I have to look at hardware, just know enough not to break it. Thank you for checking on me.

*didn't mean to hijack your thread Speculant, did you get your answers or have any more questions?

Thank you for looking Fred, had a hunch mine was not good enough for folding.
