Weirdness in Photoshop CS

I have a very annoying and strange problem in Photoshop CS.

Whenever I go to do some kind of filter, for example gaussian blur. I will get weird colors. However, this only happens when I set the blur to a high number such as 8 where as on a low number such as 1 everything is normal.

A similar problem occurs when viewing images in ACDSEE Pro. I will be going through images in the viewer and more often then not images will appear "messed-up" somewhat like in the screenshots above (but not as severe) however with a few hits of the f5 key (refresh) the image will (98% of the time) display normally.



What Is Going On?!

 

I'm not really sure about this. But the problem is most likely a video card display error.

In otherwords if you were to save and reopen that really ugly looking picture you posted above (the second one) it should look like normal.

If it does do that you may want to try turning off hardware acceleration on the card, and see if things work correctly (obviously games won't). If it does chances are there is somethign wrong with the video card itself. And you should either try to update the drivers, flash the gpu or get a new video card.
