How did Kay's party go? Still have the full complement of relatives?

Did Kay get lots of goodies and have a lot of fun?

Ever see Animal house? Imagine it with snotty suburbanites instead of frat boys, and there you go.

But Kay had alot of fun, she can't smell tension - got a ton of things from her family, a bag full of dolloar store things from her father (i think i spent more on the favor bags for his psuedo step kids than he did for his own daughters birthday) and then everyone left as soon as they could. So.. it was loverly.

I love Animal House!

As long as Kay had fun that is really all that is important. When my kids were small, I never had any extra money. We had birthdays at parks or at home, with pizza and homemade cake. The kids never cared what they got or how expensive a gift was, the unwrapping was the most fun.

So damn the relatives and as long as she and you had fun, that is all that matters, one day it will be the best part that you remember.
