WEP and WPA encryption - walkthrough please!!

    Hi, have a Linksys WRT54G router and 2 buffalo pcmcia cards and just got a pci wireless card. I want my network secure, it works fine but I just want it secured so nobody can get in. I know how to get into the wireless settings etc but when I try to assign a key (6/12 figures) I want to choose my own, not one it generates. Any help would be appreciated, or if you like PM/add me to msn messenger. :)
