I thought that looked a lot like H-ville! Made quite a few trips down there when #3 son was stationed at the fort for 4 years. Looks like one of the places just outside one of the gates. hope you get it! I liked it down there, all except for the humidity. son is back at fort benning right now for a couple of months of training. anyway, good luck.

You guys are so lucky over there you'd need to be a millionaire to buy and run something like that over here.

    Best of luck;)

Very true Rikky, that would likely go for even in this lower housing market for £1-2m in UK

It's the same here a house like that would command around 1.5 million.
There is an appartment in our complex for sale at 490.000 Euros.
The guy who bought it the same time as me went bankrupt 3 months later.

Nice apt Bill, I'm looking at apts in city where I work, but not got ***-in-gear much to get to buying stage, need to soon.

NJ that place as many have said is superb, hope you get it, as land around is neat and worth its weight, definatly in UK/EU.

Hi David, I have not been in Liverpool for about 20years but i hear it has become very cosmopolitan and great place to live.

Hope you find what you want.

@NJ i have a really great appartment but when i think what i could buy in the US for the same money i am green with envy.
Got my fingers crossed for you and hope all goes well.

Yeah, Liverpool, city of culture. FAIL.
That honour deserved to go to Newcastle. We all know I'm right.

Back on topic. NJ, hope the wife has remembered to stock up on vitamin pills and red bull. She gonna need them if you get a house that big. And remember to buy her some new gardening equipment. :-D

Here it depends on location. My friend's house where she lives (Lake Tahoe) is valued at $350,000.00. Here where I live (West Michigan) it wouldn't be more than $125,000.00 (probably less, as she has almost no land).

    That is a great house!

Depends on location, not to be snobby by any means living in the "Armpit" of California but even here a house that size would go for half a mil. You just don't see yards as lush either.
With property being so affordable what with all the foreclosures finding a good price is half the battle. Finding financing is another story. (Here in Ca, at least)
It's best to find a lender first and be prequalified for what ever amount they are willing to give you. Then your armed.

Dunno what culture Newcastle has if any! at least Liverpool has the Beatles and music at its heart as well as two good footbal teams, Newcastle has drunk girls, ok a positive maybe but not always a plus point ;)

City of culture in 2008 while not a fail it wasnt much of a sucess IMHO either but did bring the city and country much ££ from visitors, most of which wanted to see the Beatles and places on interest,

Here, the cycle goes - people buy a new house, have a family, family grows up leaves home, house to big for couple so they rent, property deteriorates, goes down as far as it can but becomes affordable to newly weds. They buy the house fix it up like new again, have a family, so on

I would imagine that cycle is true everywhere.

The loan was enough but they would not pass the house on the inspection so they won't let us get it even tho its worth alot more than asking price. Go Figure............ We got to be out by next Friday.... Money is a big issue for us right now we are as broke as can be and still got to move.........

Hi NJ, that is the pits, for sure... I thought for sure you had that place, and it sure was nice looking... Then again, I am no inspector either... I sure do hope you find something in time, we are all keeping our fingers crossed for ya... Sounds like things are going from bad to worse tho.... Hang in there, you still have time.... We are all pulling for ya... :strong

I'm sorry to here that NJ. There's a reason for it to happen that way. He evidently has something better in mind for you guys. I'm sure it will work out. Do you have any family or friends you might be able to stay with for a while?
Are you trying to stay up that way or were you going to move back to Fl? If you move back here I'll keep a look out for homes around the central part for ya.;)Keep us posted.

Aw, sorry to hear that, well they say things happen for the best. Moving is hard enough but being broke to boot, ah reminds me of when I was young, you'll pull through, will keep good thought for you.
