Flood water came thru the ceiling of my apartment and landed with remarkable precision on my HP pavillion tx1119us notebook. It was not turned on at the time. I let it dry out for 4 days, and then tried to start it, but nothing is happening. Any suggestions for resurrection or salvage would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to MajorGeeks! Dang, that is some bad luck with the computer. I would take it apart as far as possible, and let a fan blow on the 'guts' so to speak for a few more days.

If the insides are really dirty, rinse them off with some distilled water. I would NOT rinse the hard drive, just let it dry outside of the case. And make sure it is unplugged and the battery is out before doing anything else. :-D

Don't rush it, let it dry out. Good luck!

Yes as Fred said dry it for a few days. If you have an airing cupboard or a boiler in a cupboard that would be a good place to dry it.
